Q.Coconut Palm Tree Disease identification

Zone Santa Marta, Colombia (north coast) | Anonymous added on February 12, 2019 | Answered

Hi there,

I am seeking some kind help to tell me what disease or deficiency have my trees. I would like to understand what is bothering them, there are several online help, but I would really like to be sure of my identification. There is a few photos attached, all these coco are in my place and there seems to be difference issues between them, I would like to know which goes to which tree.

1) The High coco with long trunk is so small at the top, the leafs and head looks too small for the trunk. is it a sulfur deficiency? or a root rotting?
2) The second picture shows a more general issue with other palms on my land which may more be like a nutrient deficiency than a possible disease?

Thank you so much in advance for helping out, or giving me some contact that can help!

Your site is fantastic, please keep it going, its growing!

Have you been experiencing cooler than normal temperatures? This looks like cold damage, but if there has been no cool weather, then this may be a manganese deficiency. Manganese sulfate can help if this is the case. Do not confuse this with magnesium sulfate. These are not the same.
