Q.Caterpillars all over my basil plants?

Yellow cattlepillars please see picture. This is in South New Jersey.

Hello, You can use a product know at Bt. on your edibles. It is a bacteria specific to stopping caterpillars from being able to digest, then they just die.It stops the caterpillars but doesn't harm you food. Just have to wash thoroughly before eating. You should be able to get it at a proper plant nursery. I think Monteray Chemical make a version of this product that it ready to use. Check the label for your specific crop before using.If you want to go with beneficial insects Ladybugs and Lacewings should eat the eggs before they hatch and they can be ordered online or purchased at some nurseries. Release at night so they stay in your yard..
