Q.Carpet Grass Turning Brown
Hi, I am from Malaysia. I have recently installed Phillipines carpet grass on my lawn in November 2020. After the first mowing done by the landscaping guys in early January 2021, i realised that my carpet grass has turned brown and certain areas are even “balding”. I have told them 2 weeks after the moving done and they told me possibility of insects being the culprit. Nonetheless, insecticides and fertilizers have been given. I do water the lawn once a day. It is hot here with a temperature of 30-32 degrees. It rains occasionally. I would like to seek your expert advice on what should i do and what am i missing here. Thank you

Carpetgrass is susceptible to soil borne diseases such as brownpatch and leaf spots but it is not usually necessary to treat with a fungicide as it will recover when environmental conditions improve. Insecticides can control mole cricket damage. Our information pertains to the U.S. but should be helpful in tropical locations, too.
