Q.Canna lilies

Zone Torquay, Devon, UK | Fidosaurus added on July 30, 2016 | Answered

I have strawberry like growths on my canna lily. Does anyone know whether this is normal or is it a problem? I included 2 photos to show the plant and the growths.

Thank you

It looks like your photos didn't come through, but we've had this same question from another visitor as well. They looked (in other photos) almost like seed pods however in those photos the plant hadn't bloomed yet, and usually the seed pods don't develop until after the flower is spent.

It would probably be best to leave it be so as to not risk injuring the plant or opening it up to be susceptible to disease.
