My son bought me a dwarf canna lily which is apparently thriving in a pot. There is plenty of new foliage but I have noticed ‘strawberry’ like growths.

This almost looks like a seed pod, which normally don't appear until after the flowers are spent...

If it were me, I'd leave it alone & see if it will "fix" itself.
