Can you recommend a treatment to get rid of sooty mold on an ivy plant? Our large ivy divider, which is attached to a Californian brick wall, has a covering of black sooty mold on the leaves and on branches. I suspect that it is some type of aphid. Can you suggest what treatment/spray I should apply? I have two types of ivy. The problem started on the variegated ivy and I would like to eradicate the problem before it spreads further to other ivy plants on the wall. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
