Q.Rhododendrons did not flower

Zone Spokane, WA | James_8 added on April 22, 2016 | Answered

Can you help me find out why my Rhododendrons did not flower? Two years ago my plants flowered, last year they did not. I was told due to harsh weather they may have been shocked. I was also told to remove dead buds. I now have a plant that has all new buds but they have not began to open at all while my azaleas have. I have read things about pruning them but not exactly sure how I should prune them.

I have attached some photos. Is there anything concerning in these photos alone? I have applied some Rhododendron fertilizer to get the pH down.
