Q.Can the Japanese maple grow in a container?

I live in Las Vegas. The summer temperature is well over 100 and very sunny. I haven’t any shade except for the patio. I was given a Japanese Maple and need some help.

Yes, you certainly can grow a Japanese Maple in a container.
A young Japanese Maple can be sensitive to very bright sun locations. A slightly less sunny location would be more ideal.
