Q.Can spider plant roots steal water from nearby trees thus endangering the tree?
Spider plants are all around my bottle brush tree close and I worry their roots could harm it.

This article helps to explain the nature of spider plants' roots. You may want to thin the plants if you feel they're crowding your bottle brush or taking more than their share of nutrients and water.
