Q.Can I Use Fresh-raked Leaves On My Garden Vegetables Without First Mulching?

I live in Zone 8b, southern La.- 100 ft. of mixed vegs. tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant.

You can, but it's much better if they're shredded, composted or otherwise broken down - even broken up by your lawnmower. When they're just fresh whole leaves, they can block water and air to the plants and roots. Here's an article on composting leaves
