Can I take down a hanging staghorn and place it on metal plant stand? Unpotted, just place plant on stand.

Question

Plant is a large round hanging staghorn. Its over 100lbs maybe 200. Its needs to come off the tree. Can I place that ball pf a plant on a classic iron plant stand and let it continue to grow in the air. It will be under trees. I dont want to hang something that large in Florida.

I think that would be fine. Because of its size, you may want to divide it.
