Can I Eat Overgrown Pole Beans In The Pod Or Use For Chili?

We picked the pole beans too late! They are huge and swollen with beans inside the pod. Are they edible? Can they be used in chili?

They are, but They may be quite a bit more tough and stringy. I would cook them, very well. Even then there may be some stringiness. It may be best to use them, removed, from the pod.
