Q.composting tomato fruits
Can I compost the tomato fruit off of the vine if it has been infected by blight? I have ripped out and bagged the plant for the garbage but we have a limit on how much garbage we can put out and would like to compost the tomatoes themselves.

It really is best to destroy all affected plant material, tomatoes and all.
Most garden compost does not reach the temperatures that would be necessary to destroy the pathogens.
Make sure you pull up and destroy any volunteer tomatoes next spring.
