Q.Can a Forsythia Bush Be Moved in Spring

Zone middle tennessee | hale0711 added on April 18, 2012 | Answered

I live in middle TN and have 2 year old forsythia bushes about 4 feet tall. I was wondering if they can be transplanted to a different location? It is spring and they are no longer blooming~ just full of green leaves.

Yes, as long as they have finished their blooming this season, it should be fine to move them. However, you may want to prune them back some to help alleviate any shock associated with the move. This article will also help with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/learn-how-to-avoid-and-repair-transplant-shock-in-plants.htm
