Q.Can a Datura be grown in a pot?

I live in Zone 5 and would want to bring it in for the winter.

Yes, but it will not be happy without some extra light. I would recommend at least 100 watts of horticultural grade lighting, as your windows won't be able to provide enough to keep it happy.

It will stay alive without extra light. It will just go into a "semi dormant" state. It will lose most of its leaves and appear almost dead until you are able to get it back outside.

If you do apply light, it will continue growing through the winter and you will have a headstart when you put it out for the year.
