Caladium Bulbs

Question

I live in Rye, NY (zip code 10580). When is the best time to plant caladium bulbs, and how will I know what color they will be? Does lighting/soil affect the color variation?

There is no way to tell the colors unless you know the color of the parent plants or you wait for them to bloom.

The soil and light should not affect the colors, but some varieties do shift color as they age.
