Q.Calla Lily dying off

My plant has died (I think) the leaves have turned yellow and limp and no new growth is present, I purchased the plant 6 mo ago and it is an indoor plant with moderate sunlight and I water when the soil has started to dry out ( I stick my finger in the soil about an inch to see if is moist). A friend said it needed love, but I have not got a clue what she means.
