Why do the leaves on my calla lilies not open (unfurl) and the plants look sick?

There are several reasons this could happen. The usual cause of this is that the plants are lacking the humidity they need, but there could also be root problems or root damage. Make sure they are getting enough water but that they are not in standing water. If possible, try to check the roots to make sure they are still firm and healthy.
