On your gardeningknowhow.com website are mentioned bracts and rosettes on the Zebra Plants. What are these?

The flowers are produced at the terminal end of a stem in a 4 sided yellow spike that has bracts that overlap like shingles.
The flowers protrude from a waxy yellow spike and only last a few days. The showy bract remains showy for 6 to 8 weeks.
