Cabbage Been Eaten By Insects

Hya We used to get huge Cabbages in the Garden, but the last 2 or 3 years they have been completely eaten every part of it , but dont know what to use to treat the Vegetables Plants, even Pea Pods wereeaten away,have tried the usuall stuff that’s available but nothing has any effect, have planted some Cabbage a week ago and alreadythey are been eating away, can you give amy Advice Please, Thanking you
