Bug Spray (Ortho Bug-B-Gon) Affected Bushes

Anonymous added on April 13, 2011 | Answered

The instructions for spraying Ortho Bug-B-Gon on my Hibiscus plants stated it was OK for vegetables and flowering plants; however,  all the leaves and flowers turned brown and are falling off. Can anything be done to save our plants?

Water the plants thoroughly, top to bottom. This will wash off what is left. They may recover, but I suspect that the bug spray had herbacide accidentally mixed in with it.

Was the spray container from the manufacturer or one of your own? Also, was it hot the day you sprayed the plants?
