Q.Broom bush

Zone South Easr, England | Neal Galbers added on February 2, 2018 | Answered

I have an establised broom bush which was blown over recently in the high winds causing the branches to split. I have now cut the damaged branches to within 4 or 5 inches from the ground and my question is will it start shooting again from either the end of the cut off branches or from the base please?

This will be fine. They are very hardy, and will likely shoot new growth from all ends! Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/broom-plants/information-on-broom-shrubs.htm
