Q.Boxwoods Leaf Symptoms

Zone 10952 | samdeeman added on July 20, 2020 | Answered

Hi, I’ve got mature Boxwoods that are showing some strange leaf symptoms. I did spray Horticultural Oil on them a few days before at night, not sure if that’s a factor. Meanwhile, I treated them with Spinosad on suspicion of insect damage. Please assist Thanks! Sam

Your photos look like the photo of boxwood mites in this publication. Leaves have a speckled or scratchy appearance. Control is by blasts of water on the foliage or miticides or horticultural oil. Sounds like your treatments should work. Continue to watch for more activity.
