The best time to plant Boxwood is late fall, late winter or the early part of spring. Try to avoid planting at the times of year when temperatures are extreme.
This gives the plants time to become established before temperatures drop or when temperatures began to rise.

If you plant Boxwood at warmer times of the year, you need to provide adequate moisture and stay attentive to the plants moisture. Boxwood are not tolerant of drought.
Avoid planting if the temperatures are still dropping below freezing.
