Bottlebrush tree newly planted leaves are turning yellow and dropping off

Question

We just planted a bottle brush tree about 2 weeks ago and have been watering it by hand every 2nd day per the instructions given to us by the nursery we purchased it from. The leaves are starting to turn yellow and fall off the tree. Are we watering too much/too little? It gets about 12 hours a sun a day.

Are you watering deeply when you water? It may not be getting enough since it is in sun 12 hours a day.
