Q.Borers

Zone 85306 | LA added on September 11, 2017 | Answered

Something is boring into fruit trees (zone 9 – AZ – very hot here) and killing branches and then trees. Sap shows first at the entry points and there are many locations on the tree. I have not had this problem before and need help on how to eliminate the problem.

This appears to be an ant-related issue. Many pest insects can cause these symptoms. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/what-is-tree-sap.htm
