Q.Blackberry bush problems
I recently purchased two blackberry bushes from a local hardware store, and they came in cardboard containers with the plant portion sticking out of the top. Both were essentially greenish brown sticks with no leaves on them. Thinking that they would start sprouting leaves once I put them in the ground, I followed the instructions by planting them and have waited for about 3 weeks for them to do anything. So far, they are still greenish brown sticks but haven’t sprouted any leaves. Should I just give up and dig them up? Or, do blackberry bushes take time and hot weather before they start sprouting leaves? I just bought two rasberry bushes that have leaves on them. Right now we are having an unusually warm spring in St. Louis, MO.

I would give it a little longer.
