Q.Black Limbs on Fig Bushes

Anonymous added on May 2, 2011 | Answered

My fig bushes are very slow to put out leaves and some of the small limbs have turned black. What can I do about this? Should I just cut off all the black areas?

It sounds like your fig has sooty mold. This is normally caused by pests, so getting rid of the pests is key to treating the fungus. I would recommend treating the fig with neem oil, as this will take care of the pests as well as the fungus.
