Q.Begonias A Complete Mess
Bought some begonia pendulas early this year, thought I would try them in a hanging basket. I planted approx 8 bulbs (as I just had to use them all) in 15″ diameter basket, and now I have this mess. One sprouted early and has taken over plus it has grown higher than I expected, Q1: can I cut this right back, as the main stem is about 15mm diameter, it is very overcrowded with foliage suffocating a couple of White Begonias in the centre, Q2: can I cut the foliage back, I also have some thin stems growing with an almost circular leaf that is flat I have looked but cannot see any other pictures like this, I have circled them, Q3: are they begonia leaves or do I have something else growing here? Thanks in anticipation Rob

Begonias tend to handle hard pruning quite well, actually. You could get away with trimming it up, but keep in mind that it will cause the plant to grow more "bushy" when you prune, though. If it is crowded, then you may consider removing some of the plants, altogether.
The other plant in question looks to be Nasturtium.
