Q.Bark Splitting On Bloodgood Maple Tree

My Bloodgood maple’s bark is splitting. The tree is approx. 15′ tall & 20 years old. What can I do?

Animals and extreme weather can sometimes damage bark, but your tree's damage seems more severe. I recommend bringing in an arborist to evaluate whether this tree can be saved.
