Q.bad peaches

This year I was looking forward to fresh peaches, but this year they were unusually small, and while some were sweet, others were quite bitter. What happened to them?

It sounds like you may have had buttoning issues. It was a warm winter, so you may not have gotten the chill time needed for the tree to produce proper fruit. These articles will explain more:
