Q.avocado

Started from pit, now 3 feet tall and no branches, just straight stock. So how to prune that to be a nice houseplant. Also, why do the leaves curl up and turn brown?

Pruning of indoor plants is much the same as trees that are typically grown outside. This article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/avocado/pruning-avocado-trees.htm

As for the leaves curling and going brown, it is likely either a pest problem or a fungus, though a watering issue is also possible. I am leaning towards a fungus, based on the symptoms. I would recommend treating the tree with neem oil, which will treat both fungus and pests. Also up the water some. Here is more information on neem oil: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm
