Why are the newly planted strawberry plants’ leaves turning a dry dark color – dry like there not getting watered? And the few strawberries that are producing are very small and weak.

Strawberries need full sunshine and well draining soil.
Check the soil moisture level. Check the plant crowns, are they soft and rotting?
