Q.Asparagus Crowns
I planted crowns in early spring, and saw a few shoots–but not shoots from all the crowns I planted. Even though I new better, I got impatient and covered the new shoots over with about 6 inches of clay-ish dirt. The shoots haven’t made it to the top of the new soil line, and it’s been at least two weeks.
Is it possible that I’ll still see shoots? How long would you recommend waiting before digging up the crowns and doing it right this time?
Heavy clay soil can kill our the plants.
