Q.Are My Tomatoes Still Edible?

Zone Chicago, IL 60634 Zone 5b | Wally Girl added on October 16, 2020 | Answered

I’m in Chicago and we’ve had night temperatures in the 40s. My tomato plants are still in the ground with a lot of tomatoes on them. Are they still good to eat, or should I dig them up? Thank you. Toni

They will be fine to consume. They will stop producing as the temperatures continue to drop, though.
