Q.Apricot

An apricot tree was planted in my yard in Las Vegas almost 9 years ago. The tree is on a drip system. We have plenty of apricots each year and the flavor is fine, but the flesh of the fruit is a bit fibrous and spiny. Would increased watering of the tree help to make the flesh smoother?

Is this a new development with the fruit?
Without knowing the variety of Apricot Tree that you are growing, it may be the type of fruit that the cultivator produces.
