Q.Apple trees

Zone Wr24nu | Haywood.j1 added on June 9, 2017 | Answered

A web has formed around end of branches. Within and around the web are caterpillars about 1cm long which eat the leaves and the small fruit. The leaves also turn brown. Can you tell me what this is and can it be treated? Thanks

It is an infestation of caterpillars. They are out of control back east. Tinfoil around the base of the tree worked for me. Cut off all the branches with them on it. Put them in a bag and throw away. They will come back to that tree.
