Q.Apple & apricot from same tree

Zone 7 | ttuttle added on July 26, 2012 | Answered

I just noticed that a tree in my yard is producing both apricots and little green apples. There is a regular apricot tree next to that tree.

I’m a novice, but is this possible?

It might be possible to graft apples and apricots together but unless you planted a tree that did that, it could not happen.

I suspect that what you are seeing is not apples, but improperly pollinated or even under chilled apricot fruit.

You can send picture to this address if you would like so we can confirm.
