Q.Ant infestation in my garden

Ants are everywhere in my garden. When I dig a hole to plant a seedling , I find them there.Could the acidity or alkalinity or the PH of the soil be a factor? Help please!

Ants can be a sign that there is a food source for them; the residue from other pests.
