Q.Ant Colony in Lavender potted plant

Zone 91701 | dididokcm13 added on August 28, 2018 | Answered

I recently found that a colony of ants has begun to establish itself in my potted lavender. When I watered my lavender this morning, a bunch of them came pouring out and onto my lavender. Rhey were carrying a bunch of their larvae and eggs due to the “flood” I created. They don’t look like fire ants and the lavender plant looks fine but I am curious if this is going to be a potential problem. Should I get rid of them now? Are they beneficial for my lavender? How should I get rid of them if I have to?
