Q.All My Plants Stay Small (healthy, But Not Getting Bigger). In The 1960s, The Previous Neighbour Threw All His Empty Food Tins Int
o his garden to raise it. Could aluminium be contaminating my soil? These were small, steep, south-facing gardens, with clay soil. I’ve added 30+ tonnes of good quality soil to level my garden, but it sits lower than the tin-can garden next door.

It is possible, but to be sure, have a soil sample done for your garden. That will let you know if anything is amiss in your soil, such as any contaminants. Since you've added a lot of good soil, that should help. If the soil sample shows aluminum toxicity, agricultural lime should correct it.
