Q.Acorn squash

Zone 68701 | Anonymous added on July 15, 2017 | Answered

I planted green acorn squash seeds (the seeds I saved from last years harvest). Plants are doing beautifully. But they are producing whitish/yellowish acorn squash. Why? Never saw any other color for them before. Does the different color mean a difference in taste as well? Thanks for your help.

Saved seeds from a hybrid may not grow true to seed. The original plant was most likely a cross between something that you are now seeing grow in your garden.

The Squash may taste great, or not so great! A garden experiment!
