Q.A PEACH TREE

Zone SPRINGFIELD, MO | Anonymous added on May 22, 2017 | Answered

SEVERAL YEARS AGO WHILE REMODELING(BUT NOT LIVING IN) THE HOME OF MY DECEASED FATHER THERE WAS A SEWAGE LEAK IN THE BACK YARD RIGHT NEXT TO ONE OF OUR PEACH TREES. THIS LEAK WAS GOING ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME-THINK A YEAR-ACCORDING TO OUR PLUMBER BUT NO ONE NOTICED BECAUSE NO ONE LIVED HERE. BET YOU CAN GUESS MY QUESTION…IS THE FRUIT SAFE TO EAT FROM THAT TREE NOW OR EVER? THANK YOU FOR YOUR SITE IT IS GREAT!!

Food safety is a bit beyond my expertise with this question but I did find this link that address this issue.

http://inspectapedia.com/septic/Septic_Food_Contamination.php

I hope this helps or gives you a starting point to further the inquiry.
