I got a mandevilla plant. Can I plant it and leave it out for the winter, as I live in PA? It does get cold here.
Mandevilla is a tender perennial and will not survive an outdoor winter in your region. You can winter over your pot indoors.

My trailing mandevilla is very healthy with many blooms; however, the vine is not growing. I have had great luck with them climbing up my trellis, but this particular one is blooming beautifully but not growing. Help!

Underside of the leaves have become a rusty orange color! However, the plant does have blooms! What could be the problem with the leaves? Bonnie
This is Rust Fungus and can appear when conditions are damp combined with lack of air circulation.

Is the stem suppose to be very hard and woody? Also, can I repot in July? My mom didn't care for it while I was gone and the vines are all twisted around one another. Can I separate them? Help!
Yes Mandevilla is a woody stem vine.

I just purchased a gorgeous Mandevilla and I am one who has been blessed with a green thumb, but I didn't find anything on where to place the vine. Which window provides the best light for the plant? South or west facing window are the best when I have come across info on when bringing tender plants in to over winter them. What do you suggest? The Mandevilla is already 5-feet tall, and I am wondering once I bring it in the house, "Do I just trim the long vining on the plant and have it look like a bush?" I appreciate any advice you can give me. Thank you and God bless! Managing my Mandevilla in Lima Ohio, Sally

I bought a small Mandevilla and transplanted to a larger pot with trellis. The Mandevilla has grown full and bloomed but isn't traveling up the trellis. Is this a different type of Mandevilla?
There isn't a "vertical climbing" Mandevilla and then a "spreading" Mandevilla -- it's all the same plant. The difference between yours and other Mandevilla vines that climb much better is probably something very simple.
If you've pruned (or "pinched") your Mandevilla this year, that would definitely result in a bushier, fuller vine that is putting its energy into spreading out rather than climbing up.
Mandevillas benefit from a high-phosporous fertilizer, so if you haven't fertilized your vine this year, that could help it start climbing.

Older varieties of Mandevilla were generally climbers. Newer varieties are being produced that have a mounding growth pattern and do not need a trellis or support.

I don't know how to water my Perlavilla mandevilla plant and let the water drain away once it is in a trained position. At the moment, it is just trailing and I am watering it outside to let the water drain away. I wonder if you could also clarify how to maximize flowering, as another site mentions cutting off the top above the flower.
I'm listing links with care information.
Water when the plant dries out.
I think your referring to pinching back the plant, this will help your plant become fuller and bushier.
A trellis or support is necessary for your plant to grow on.
