Q.Tomato Fungicides, Eradicants And Protectorant
At the end of this growing season my tomato plants contracted blight (black stems and tomatoes). I would like to know the difference between an eradicant and a protectorant garden fungicide. I also would like to know the brand names of these types of fungicides that are sold on Amazon. It’s hard to tell which commercial products are eradicants and which are protectorates. Can a fungicide be applied to the garden bed in the Fall that will help inoculate the soil before the next growing season? What soil amendments can I add that will help rebuild the soil over winter? Thank You.

Applying compost in the fall will improve your garden soil for next spring. We don't make product recommendations, but generally, a fungicide applied BEFORE there are symptoms of disease will help protect the plant. If you wait till symptoms show up, the fungicides that say they will eradicate a disease will only stop the disease from spreading, it won't cure a fungal disease that exists.
