Hi so this is my first year gardening so I'm trying to figure out exactly what size containers I need for my vegetables since in ground or raised beds aren't an option at this time. As of now I have 12in pots, 18in pots, and 5 gallon containers. In the 12in pots I was thinking of cucumbers and peppers. For the 18in pots I was thinking of green beans and zucchini. For the 5 gallon I wanted tomato and eggplant. Do these sizes seem correct? Do you think I should put the green beans and zucchini in a 5 gallon instead of the 18in pots? How many should go in each container?

I used pots or buckets to grow I made sure to put holes to drain water.
Looks like quite a bit of clay. That is a huge no-no in container gardening.
Change to a potting soil designed for seedlings, as standard potting soil can be too rich in nutrients.

Unless your container is 5 gallons or more, it's typically one plant to a container. These articles should help:

I want to plant beet seeds in pots. What kind of water should I use: my well water, bottled spring water, or bottled distilled water? Why?
Typically, well water will have less additives then the bottled solutions. (They have to). I would opt for the well water solution, since you have access to it. If you are concerned, however, you can take samples to your local extension service then they can help determine how clean the water is.
