We have a tulip tree that is already losing its leaves. It has been dry for the last 2 months; could that be why?
Yes, a drought stressed plant may drop its leaves in self preservation. Have you watered the tree? If not, that will help.
Also check the tree for pests and disease. These articles should help:

not the run-of-the-mill pink ones but red, orange blue.
We don't sell plants or products and do not recommend specific vendors. However, I suggest you do a search online for nurseries that grow/sell this tree.
We recently had a bad storm and the wind took down my tulip tree that was from my grandfathers farm it is not the right time of year for fall propagation. I will have to cut it up and remove it all the tree snapped at the truck base sadly. It has the flowers on it right now as I type. My question is , is there a way to get new tree/trees started from what I have that has been blown over , can I salvage anything from my grandfathers tree. I would much rather that than buy another from some random place thank you
I'm not sure if you have the tulip tree ((Liriodendron tulipifera) or the saucer magnolia which is also called a tulip tree. I would certainly try to propagate from cuttings or branches. The cooler weather of fall is ideal but it should now, too. Here is how:

I planted a tulip tree 45 years ago and it is very tall, maybe 80 or 90 feet tall. I would like to cut the top by a third. Will this hurt or kill the tree?
It is better to remove some of the tall side branches. Topping a tree will cause many unattractive water sprouts to grow and could kill it. Here is more:

I need to know how much to prune and when to prune an african tulip tree.
You can prune this highly invasive species at any time, and in any amount. In fact, this may be the only way to control its vigor, once it is established.

Is it to late to plant a tulip tree now.
Fall is the best time to plant trees and shrubs. Sometimes they are hard to find in fall because nurseries wait till spring to stock up on trees.

I had to cut down a tulip poplar (3” trunk) due to severe damage from a buck in the fall. The stump is sprouting a lot of new growth which is what I was hoping for. My question is are all these new shoots “branches” or do I need to prune it down to one good straight shoot that will become a full tree eventually?
Each new shoot could be a tree as long as this was not a hybrid or improved cultivar. If it was a hybrid or cultivar, the shoots may not look exactly the same as the tree you purchased. Here are tips for growing tulip poplar.
