My snow pea plants are huge and have been flowering for some time but there is no sign of the flowers fruiting. Any suggestions for what may have caused this.
Typically, this is a pollination issue. These articles will help you with attracting more pollinators:

Why do we not want the peas to swell in the pod? I would think a fat juicy pea fully mature would be ideal.
Snow Peas are meant to be eaten as a pod. If the peas get large they are bitter.

I have collected early seeds of snow peas and long beans. Can I plant them now for a fall crop or they have to be use for next spring? In general, do seeds need to be used for the next year? Or can they be used in the same year as long as they are collected early enough for that year's fall crop?
You can use them for this year. You do not need to wait to plant them.
How tall do snow peas grow and do they need to be staked?
There are many different varieties of Snow Peas, and the maturity size may vary between them.
The Peas don't necessarily need a trellis, but the pods are much easier to pick if they are upright and off of the ground.
You can use a trellis or stakes, netting, string and chicken wire to name a few ideas.

I am considering growing a small quantity of snow peas in an outdoor container. The container is 30" x 30" and approximately 14" deep. I have a wire cage that protects the plants from animal intrusion and also allows for draping of sun inhibiting material to prevent all day direct sunlight if necessary. If this project is worth trying what is the depth of earth required to grow the crop? How high do the plants grow? Would they require a trellis? Can you start growing seeds indoor and then transplant them to the container or is it better to plant the seeds directly into the outdoor container? Would appreciate your comments and expertise. Many thanks, Ed Perry.susan@sympatico.ca

The leaves are curling and wilting.
One possibility is an insect or mite infestation. Check the leaves for small, sap-sucking creatures like aphids, thrips, or mites. Then, see this article:

How much should I water snow peas?
I'm sorry but there is no easy answer for that as it depends on many things like location, climate, weather, soil conditions. But this article may help you
