Mine are growing in a flower bed on the south side of my house in Zone 6b in Wichita, Ks. The clump still blooms but I believe it will soon need to be divided. BTW, it comes back every year and I give it no extra care, such as mulching. It is about 4' from the foundation.
How wonderful your able to winter over your plants.
I would advise dividing in spring and you should not need to divide more than every 5 to 6 years.

I have a pineapple lily that grows outside in my flower bed for the last 4 years. I live in northern Michigan and I am wondering if it will multiply
This warm climate bulb can multiply. It is hardy in zones 10-11, so it really should not be left outdoors in your colder zone.

I am growing indoors 2 pineapple plants in water. Since one of them has large roots I put it in a large vase where there is plenty of space to put a betta fish. Before I do it I want to make sure its safe for the fish. Thank you, Maria
No, I would not suggest a Pineapple plant for your Beta Fish.
