Every year I plant impatiens in a large planter in front of my house. Usually, they are gorgeous and thrive, getting large and bushy, filling up the entire space. The only probelm is fighting off the deer. This year two batches have died: the plant stems fall over and appear to have been severed at the ground level. I do not see any oozing yellow stuff though. What is causing this and how can I prevent it next year? Or treat it now?
It could be cutworms. Neem oil should help. Here is more information to help you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/impatiens/impatiens-problems.htm

If I have over watered my impatiens, will they come back? They are lanky and don't have many buds.
If they are overwatered and sit in soggy soil they may have perished from root rot.
They would not recover from this.
Allow them to dry out and after a few days give a tug. If they pull right out of the ground, just dispose of the plants.

I believe birds are pecking and destroying my impatiens. How can I stop them? Thank you. I actually saw them pecking and pulling on them.

I purchased impatiens and then repotted them in hanging baskets outside. They were beautiful at first, but now the flowers are diminishing. The plant itself is thriving and the green leaves dominate the plant - but I have lost most of the color on 80% of the plants. I water them all daily. What have I done wrong? And is there any way to get the blooms back this season? Would appreciate any help/advice. Thanks.

My impatiens are too "leggy" but I don't know how or where to pinch them back.
Use clean scissors and trim the stems back to the last leaf nodes.
You can propagate the cuttings to grow more plants if you like.

My impatiens (dark leaves pink flowers) in a hanging pot have dropped blossoms and now is looking kind of sad. How can I bring this plant back?
Make sure you are watering the hanging basket adequately for the heat of our summer days.
Twice a day in temperatures above 85 degrees.
Cut back the plant if it has become leggy. You can trim it back to it's original size. Trim just to a set of leaflets.
Fertilize your pot once a month with a balanced fertilizer.

My impatiens have lost all their leaves. The plant bloomed then started losing all its leaves. It doesn't look dead. It is still all green. I need to know what to do. Thanks.
